Karuna Reiki

Just Like Medicine, in general, has its Types and Sub-types, “Reiki” too, has its various streams with the basic building block established by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui.

Karuna Reiki is developed by William Rand and is very popular today. It was introduced in 1995 but is used by many now-a-days. Karuna Reiki, itself, has many levels/sub levels, but for that, too, you should be Master in “Reiki” before you go for any other Avataar of Reiki.

Karuna is a Sanskrit Word and it means Compassion/Love.

Here, is an interview with William Rand himself.

  • A person can live without food and water for some days but can’t live without air for few seconds.
  • The lungs are the purifiers of our system. They pump in the oxygen and pump out toxic carbon dioxide.
  • In diseases like Asthma and bronchitis the normal pattern of breathing changes, it also changes after great physical activity when it becomes rapid and deep.
  • There are several breathing exercises which help to ventilate our lungs for maintenance of good health.
  • Different emotions have different impact on breathing pattern.

E.g. when angry, excited, fearful, depress breathing takes a different pattern.

It also changes during and after the sexual act.

  • Proper breathing is greatly important for toning up physical and mental health.
  • In yoga and all kind of meditation different breathing patterns are used.
  • Importance of breathing is greatly described in Dr Joseph Pilets’ therapy.
  • Breath is the bridge between the body, the senses and the mind and our aim must be to strengthen this bridge for healthy living.
  • Due to our modern busy life schedule we breathe only 1/10th of our oxygen requirement and use approximately 1/3rd of our lung capacity.
  • There are 3 distinct types of breathing

(1)   Clavicular or upper breathing

(2)   Thoracic or middle breathing

(3)   Abdominal or deep or diaphragmatic breathing.

Though Reiki is defined in many terms by different people like “Atmospheric energy”, “Universal Energy”, “Dynamic Energy” and so on.

Having spiritual angle, doesn’t mean, Reiki has no logical connection with physical body or its functions.

Attached link here, serves two purposes, it shares detailed information on Chakras / Associated Glands / Organs and much more, and also its Association with Colors.

Following is a very Basic/Crisp info on Color Therapy
  • Colour therapy or chromo therapy is based on the principle that our life is full of colour and so our health and mood are greatly influenced by it.
  • Bright colours in the surroundings can make us feel joyful, happy etc…
  • Dark colours in the surroundings will have depressive effect on the person.
  • In this therapy different colours are used according to body and disease requirement.
    • Like for insomnia patient sky blue colour lights are used.
    • In asthma patient is placed under the blue or violet light and red colour water is given to drink every 15min until the attack subsides.
    • In constipation yellow colour is used in any form.

EFFECTS OF THE DIFFERENT COLOURS:

  • Sky blue- mild sedative effect
  • Red – excitement and energetic
  • Orange– joyful
  • Yellow- positivity in mood
  • Green – king of colour
  • In this therapy colours are introduced in the body in the form of fruits and vegetables also.
  • METHOD FOR PREPARING COLOUR WATER:
    • Water is filled in air tight colour bottle and kept in sunlight for charging.
  • Patients are placed in the glass cabin made up of coloured glass and colours are allowed to pass from the open window on the body as per the requirement.
  • Various oils can also be charged like water and are used for the massage.
  • SOME EXAMPLES OF CHROMOTHERAPY:
    • Abdominal pain – warm blue water every 15min
    • Baldness and hair falling – wash the head with blue water. After drying apply blue oil to the scalp. Exposure of scalp to sunlight through blue colour glasses.

Burns – apply blue water compresses as it has antiseptic property.

Our body Chakras are also made of vivid colors . Each and every Chakra has a specific color. Will be posting soon , an article on Chakra’s/Its Colors and much more…

Hi,

Following article is a good source of information for health care providers and care givers of people with stammering and great treatment options are also described in this article, but finally, i would like to request everyone concerned that Stammering is an disorder and NOT just an emotional outburst .What actually should be done by us is Practice/Improvise our listening skills, because the person who stammers also has a heart which beats and a mind which thinks. They too have something to speak and that is what needs to be listened & understood.

  • In this therapy the therapist will massage the body to strengthen deep tissues by using various oils and different techniques.
  • It is used to relax nerves, muscles and joints.
  • It is an ancient therapy and is used in our home in many conditions like massaging the head with the hair oil in headaches and hair falling etc………..
  • Applying pain balms on the painful region. It is done systematically and gently on the recipient’s body so he can get warmth of human touch.
  • It has a special effect in relieving the stress. It can be used for aches and pains, in case of paralysis to stimulate the affected part.
  • It stimulates the body and helps in toxic elimination by opening the pores of skin and perspiration.
  • It can’t be used in the case of FEVER, SKIN DISORDERS, INJURY &WOUND FRACTURES AND IN PREGNANCY abdomen should not be massaged.
  • It can be combinely used with acupressure therapy hence acupressure points can also be massaged.
  • In this therapy special magnetic and colour charged oil are also used as per the requirement.
  • Techniques and movements of massage generally used:

(1)   EFFLURAGE (stroking)

This is the first and the main movement and is striking and gliding movement. It is mainly executed with the palm of hands and precedes all other movements. Stroking is usually done towards the heart. The pressure should be slow and rhythmic. The person being massaged should experience a continuous movement but of varied pressure.

(2)FRICTION

It is a circular movement towards or around the joints with the help of the finger tip or thumb in order to break and remove the deposit around them.

(3)PATRISSAGE

This is a squeezing movement usually circular and is applied with the thumb and /or fingers. It helps to eliminate accumulated waste products.

(4)TAPOTMENT

It is done by rapidly and gently tapping and beating the body. It increases the blood supply and provides nutrition to the parts. More useful over the head and also on lumbar region to reduce the fat.

(5)VIBRATION

Vibro massager is used in this technique which is electrically operated and is very useful in neuritis.

(6)HACKING

It is the movement which uses the sides of the both hands, like a karate chop, but fingers are kept relaxed and slightly curved.

ACUPRESSURE

  • Acupressure is the most ancient and simplest of various oriental therapies such as acupuncture, shiatsu, zone therapy and reflexology which are prevalent today.
  • Each of these therapies strives to produce healing effects on the internal organs of the body through well defined points on the body surface.
  • Long term use of this therapy can be beneficial in chronic diseases also. Though acute results can be obtained in aches and pains.
  • Though easy and simple it is an effective treatment.
  • Anybody can take this treatment by himself in the privacy of his own home.
  • It is completely free from any side effects.

MAINTENANCE OF HEALTH THROUGH ACUPRESSURE

  • Health can be maintained easily by taking a regular treatment on the particular acupressure points every day.
  • A short acupressure session in the morning helps to maintain the balance of the energies flowing in the body.
  • Acupressure helps to increase vitality and strength. A regular application of pressure on acupressure points TSU-SAN-LI & YANG-LING-CHUAN gives strength to the muscles of the legs.
  • The heart and respiratory system work with increased efficiency by pressing the points NEI-KUAN.

DIAGNOSIS OF THE DISEASE THROUGH ACUPRESSURE

  • When any organ of the body is diseased the points corresponding to that organ become tender and morbidly sensitive.
  • If some points hurts on pressing it can be said that there is something wrong with the organ connected with that point.
  • In acupressure even in the initial stage of the disease the diagnosis of the disease is possible with the help of painful points.
  • It also helps to diagnose a disease which is likely to occur in near future.
  • Though it is true that early and differential diagnosis of a disease is possible with the help of acupressure, the patient is advised not to attempt to diagnose his disease on his own. The work of diagnosis should be left to an experienced physician.

CURE OF THE DISEASE

  • The principle of acupressure is “TREAT THE PATIENT AND NOT THE DISEASE ALONE”.
  • Diseases cure by acupressure
    • Constipation
    • Acidity
    • Thyroid disturbances
    • All sorts of aches and pains
    • Stress and its related disorder/ psychosomatic disorder
    • Speech and sleep disorder etc…………………
  • It should not be used in case of fractures, injuries, wound, mature cataract, gall stone, kidney stone.
  • “POINTS OF ABDOMEN SHOULD NOT BE TREATED IN CASE OF THE PREGNANT WOMEN”.
  • There are many acupressure tools available in the market which can be used.
  • Acupressure foot rollers, sandals, mates, belts etc………..
  • Acupressure can be combinely used with massage therapy also.
  • THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF THE ACCUPRESSURE POINTS:
  • POINT -1(LU-5)
    • Observe the faint crease that represents the elbow joint.
    • Now bend the elbow by about 45degrees, you will find a rope like structure at the centre of the front surface of elbow. This is the tendon of the biceps muscles of the arm.
    • Point 1 lies on the elbow crease, just near this tendon.
  • POINT-2(LU-6)
    • Joint the point 1 and 3 with a straight line. Point 2 lies on this line, five thumb width below the elbow crease.
  • POINT-3(LU-7)
    • This point lies on the outer border of the forearm, two finger widths above the wrist joint.
  • POINT-4(LU-9)
    • This point lies at the outer end of the wrist crease.
  •  etc…..
