Reiki is a wonderful addition to traditional medicine. But I prefer to view Reiki as preventative medicine. It is a healthy way of life. Insurance companies would be wise to see the advantages of therapies such as Reiki, Acupuncture, Tai Chi and Yoga. I believe people should be proactive in their health and not just reactive. Physicians who acknowledge the spiritual and mental aspect of healing rather than just prescribing drugs are the people who will make a difference in moving Reiki into main stream medicine.

I agree one hundred percent. The problem is then the drug companies would loose money if we went to the source of the problem instead of giving a pill or treatment for everything!

Change is never easy. But I think our youth deserve a change in direction. My daughter is a Reiki II practitioner and we do meditation, yoga and dance together. The drug companies may not like the change in direction but I’m sure they will find a way to stay in business.
